Falling asleep in a classroom never felt so right. Each of the 45 immaculate, upscale rooms and suites at Hotel Grinnell is designed to celebrate our building’s roots as the city’s junior high school from 1921 through the late ’70s.
Old-school nostalgia is evoked with touches like original hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, locker room-style benches, and chalkboards for notes, reminders, artwork, and daily announcements. Original, unique works of art hang on the walls to inspire your creative side.

Amethyst Rooms
Amethyst Rooms are our entry-level room category located on our 1st and 2nd floors of the Main House.
Ruby King Rooms
These rooms feature a King bed and gorgeous claw-foot soaking bathtubs with rain-can showerheads.
Ruby Double Room
This room features two Double Beds and a gorgeous claw-foot soaking bathtub with rain-can shower head. Approximately 300 square feet in size.
